Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equiv) in Mechanical or Electronics Engineering + 5 years’ experience in Controls Engineering or a position demonstrating advanced controls technical knowledge in the HVAC industry. Experience is required and must include: Commercial/industrial construction markets regarding HVAC controls and associated engineering practices in new construction, renovation/retrofit project types, HVAC Components and Systems, Electrical Systems, Networking and Communications, and IT Infrastructure; Use of Microsoft Office products and engineering drawing tools, programming and development of software tools in JAVA, Python, C++, and other programming languages; Programming and configuring automation systems and components; Advanced engineering principles of fluid dynamics, heat and mass transfer, thermodynamics and electrical circuits relative to HVAC controls and systems; Interpreting and/or developing HVAC system schematics, Sequence of Operations, and wiring diagrams; Generation of all pertinent or support documentation relative to HVAC controls and HVAC systems during all phases of construction.***Position may require up to 10% domestic and international travel; may allow up to 15% work from home.

Job Description:
Duties: The Controls Engineering and Programming Center (CEPC) is an Engineering and Programming Center of Excellence created within Trane to help reduce the cost of controls engineering and offset growing demand for Engineering Specialists and Programming Technicians. CEPC is configured with a North America (NA) Engineering Team Leader located in North America and two engineering centers in South America. The position is responsible for acquisition of work, customer coordination, CEPC engineering quality, CEPC Administration, technical mentorship of controls engineers, project scheduling and distribution of workload. Duties include: Providing leadership, work direction and quality control for the successful fulfillment of controls contracting projects implemented globally. Working with Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Team Supervisors, and CEPC Manager to direct hiring needs and recruitment of new members. Driving CEPC retention and maintaining headcount requirements through Employee Engagement initiatives and CEPC hiring goals. Manage and lead a team of high performing engineering supervisors and specialists. Conferring with CEPC management, NA Leads, and Team Supervisors to discuss project concerns, identifying opportunities for improvement, or developing new procedures. Communicating and identifying opportunities or situations for reward, development, or disciplinary actions for all applicable CEPC members. Demonstrating effective communication with people outside the CEPC group as a representative of CEPC to any Regional Trane Sales Offices, Consultant Engineers, Trane Product Teams, National Accounts, Federal Team, Third-party equipment vendors, Trane-supported vendors (LAR and NA), etc. Supervise Industrial Engineering Technologists and Technicians and Mechanical Engineering Technologists and Technicians.
