Job Description

The City of Pittsfield's Recreation Department is seeking a qualified individual to fill the seasonal position of Playground Supervisor. Under the direction of the Recreation and Special Events Coordinator, the Supervisor is responsible for planning, supervising, and the operations of the summer playground program.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Must work effectively with Playground Leaders and members of the public and respond to inquiries and complaints in a positive and professional manner.
- Supervises Playground Leaders; regularly holds staff meetings with the leaders for program monitoring.
- Develops daily structured programs.
- Aids in marketing and advertising of the program.
- Aids in preparation of final program evaluation.
- Responsible for performing the duties of the Playground Leaders.
- Ability to prioritize and respond to situations and emergencies in a positive and professional manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be able to work the duration of the program.
- Must be 15 years of age or older.
- Candidates under the age of 18 must provide Employment Permit (working papers), which may be obtained from the Pittsfield School Administration Building.

HOURS
40 hours per week. Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 4:00pm

SALARY
$16.94 - $22.69 per hour.
Hourly rate commensurate with experience.
