Entity Accountant

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, a quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in a financial reporting/operational accounting role.
  • Experience with accounting principles (e.g., GAAP, International Financial Reporting Standards, and international accounting standards).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP.
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional environment and lead/drive operational initiatives.
  • Ability to handle a diverse workload, while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.

Google accountants are a savvy bunch who handle the core accounting responsibilities at Google. You know your accounting principles and the full accounting process end to end. You'll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. In this role, you will drive cross-finance collaboration to support both finance as well as business-led initiatives, while helping to implement and improve existing processes.

From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain ownership and accountability for accuracy, timeliness, effectiveness, and efficiency of financial reporting and processes related to Controllership. (e.g., year-end statutory financial processes, Profit and Loss, tax compliance, financial accounting).
  • Prepare and present financial information to stakeholders, finance leaders, business partners, auditors, and regional accountants. 
  • Participate in cross-finance readiness for product initiatives and partner with stakeholders for implementation. Develop solutions for current and potential problems, addressing potential issues, and focusing on comprehensive and proactive planning to craft solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to design new or improve current methods and processes (e.g., documents/deliverables, policy updates), to increase efficiency or value for users.
  • Maintain an internal control environment, and ensure accuracy of financial accounts.
