The Company

Cypress Creek Renewables is powering a sustainable future, one project at a time. We develop, finance, own and operate utility-scale and distributed solar and storage projects across the country. Fostering a diverse group of innovative thinkers from all backgrounds, Cypress people are drawn to work in a purpose-driven organization. We hope you will join us.

The Role

We are seeking a talented and highly motivated individual to lead the execution of a variety of financing structures, including transactions at the project, portfolio, and corporate levels, and spanning debt, tax equity, cash equity and M&A transactions. This person will play a key role in helping to drive financing and commercialization strategy for CCR’s project pipeline, in close collaboration with the Senior VP of Structured Finance and the CCR Executive team. Our base expectation is to hire an individual at the Senior Director level, but will consider a Managing Director position for a candidate with the appropriate level of experience.

This person will sit at the leading edge of multiple facets of the clean energy industry, rapidly develop a deep well of knowledge and industry contacts, earn competitive pay, manage and mentor a group of highly talented teammates, and serve as an influential leader within one of the nation’s most active solar and storage developers.

The location for this role is in a Cypress Creek Office - we are open to San Francisco, Santa Monica or NYC, where colleagues work on a hybrid in-office/work from home schedule (i.e., typically in-office 2-3 days a week).

Responsibilities

  • Originate new relationships with financing parties across the tax equity, debt and cash equity landscape for the company, and serve as the face of CCR to many industry participants at conferences and as the senior CCR representative on project financing transactions.
  • Serve as commercial lead for negotiations with external counterparties on financing transactions and overall transaction lead to drive towards the deal team to financial close.
  • Own all aspects of the financial models for CCR project financing transactions, across a diversity of transaction structures for utility scale solar and storage projects in the US. While the Cypress Creek Structured Finance team has an outstanding team of associates and analysts who perform the vast majority of the financial modeling for our transactions in house, we are explicitly looking for an individual who is deeply experienced in modeling themselves and is willing to and interested in rolling up their sleeves and considering themselves directly accountable for the numbers.
  • Work with other company leaders to develop market entry, power marketing, value engineering and financing strategies for CCR’s growing and dynamic pipeline.
  • Create and lead presentations and other materials for key stakeholders including our Investment Committee, our Board of Directors, and external financing parties.
  • Manage internal and external project diligence workstreams and transaction timelines.
  • Manage, mentor and provide guidance to analysts and associates on our team
  • Work closely with Capital Markets & M&A colleagues to review and execute opportunities for new corporate financings and project M&A
  • Be comfortable working independently, but also collaboratively with various subject matter experts (internal and external) to manage substantive issues around tax, accounting, financing, structuring, development, and legal considerations that impact transactions in solar and battery storage project finance
  • Delegate and review the work of junior members of the team and provide guidance and feedback.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to deal team members and to all members of the broader CCR Structured Finance team. Play a primary role in the recruiting and training of future junior members of team.

Desired Qualifications and Experiences

  • BA/BS degree (MBA or other relevant graduate degrees welcome)
  • 7-10 years of relevant finance experience required, and at least 8 years of working in the renewable energy industry
  • Substantive and demonstrable experience with tax equity structures utilized in the solar industry
  • Strong credit, financial analysis, quantitative, and modeling skills
  • Self-motivated with a high level of initiative, accountability, and comfort working independently as needed
  • Ability to work well with multiple teams across functions and offices throughout the U.S.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal & written) and ability to think on feet to defend positions and decisions
  • Attention to detail & organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results under tight deadlines
  • Unimpeachable ethics & integrity
  • Leadership ability and a passion for providing mentorship, guidance, and training to junior colleagues on the team, including multiple direct reports.
  • Desire to contribute professionally and personally to a dynamic and motivated team dedicated to making solar and storage more competitive by optimizing the capital stack, and to have fun doing it

 Benefits:

  • 15 days of Paid Time Off, accrual up to 20 days, 11 observed holidays.
  • 401(k) Match
  • Comprehensive package including medical, dental, vision and health insurance
  • Wellness stipend, family planning stipend, and generous parental leave
  • Tuition Reimbursement
  • Phone Bill Reimbursement
  • Fully expensed company travel, mileage reimbursement
  • Company Swag

Compensation: The salary range for the position is $200,000-$280,000 plus bonus and benefits. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location.

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
