HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO OUR TEAM (Overview & Key Responsibilities):
The primary function of this position will be to lead enterprise wide controls and automation projects. Support of multiple facilities electrical and control systems, equipment automation, system upgrades and integration, programming, as well as capital projects, engineering scoping, design, and project management. The project(s) scope includes system design, control and machine specifications, troubleshooting of equipment, process engineering and continuous improvement initiatives. May at times mentor / lead junior automation technicians and engineers.
Responsible for owning and implementing controls projects from concept to installation.
Maintain and upgrade production control systems including equipment and programming.
Electrical design and layout and schematic layout and updates
Leads specific enterprise-wide projects including presentation and communication to management.
Responsible for developing and managing project scope, budget, and schedule
Works together with engineers and operations on major equipment and facility improvement acquisitions.
Familiar with vision systems, barcode reading, and RFID
Build and maintain vendor and partner relationships on equipment and control systems.
Work with the engineering team on design of new systems including calculations, material specifications, layouts, equipment, and facility upgrade recommendations.
Demonstrates and promotes enterprise safety policies
Works with environmental, health and safety team, regarding project compliance, tasks and overall plant operations
Works on continuous improvement processes
Development and maintenance of system documentation
Works together and provides communication on projects, equipment, etc. with operations, maintenance, and management.
Design and implementation of PLC, HMI, and SCADA software.
OT Network design and maintenance
Travel to other facilities and equipment vendors on occasion.
Travel 25%-30% on average depending on projects.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):
Education: Bachelor's degree Electrical, Controls, or Automation Engineering
Experience/Training:
Minimum five years' experience with automation & controls in a manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of engineering principles, including but not limited to structural, machine design.
Experience with AutoCAD, Solid works, other engineering software
Proficient with Allen Bradley hardware and software: RSlogix 500& 5000, Studio 5000, RS linx, Factory Talk View Studio, Factory Talk ME, SE, and Optix
Proficiency in the use of MS office applications
Experience with Fanuc Robot programming a plus
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Demonstrated leadership organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Willing to be "hands on" and dig in as needed
