This position conducts site inspections of all types of construction in state parks. Applicant must possess a working knowledge of all phases of building construction, roads, and utility work, including electrical, plumbing, and mechanical. Job duties include monitoring each phase of construction for compliance with plans and specifications and documents deficiencies, assimilating, analyzing, and evaluating inspection data and submitting weekly reports. This position also provides technical assistance, interprets laws and regulations, produces cost estimates, and drafts monthly contractor pay estimates. Extensive statewide travel and a valid driver’s license is required. Must be able to traverse rough terrain.

Applicants must meet or exceed the following qualifications: The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma and two years of vocational training in construction techniques or building design; plus three years of experience in construction work. Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval of the qualifications review committee.
