Summary
Compiles information and records to prepare purchase orders for procurement of material by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Verifies nomenclature and specifications of purchase requests.
- Consults catalogs and communicates with suppliers to obtain prices and specifications.
- Execute POs in a timely manner based on either MRP signals or non-inventory requirements.
- Interface with the company MRP system and take the steps necessary to maintain system accuracy.
- Compares prices, specifications, and delivery dates and awards orders to suppliers.
- Purchase goods and services of appropriate quality and correct quantity from qualified suppliers.
- Work with suppliers to resolve delivery and quality issues in a timely manner.
- Verifies bills from suppliers with bids and purchase orders and approves bills for payment.
- Classifies priority regulations.
- Places required materials on order to maintain a continuous supply of inventory for their assigned products.
Non-Essential Functions
- Searches inventory records or warehouse to determine if material on hand is in sufficient quantity.
- Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED);college education
preferred. Minimum four years purchasing experience with emphasis in aerospace of two years.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple and technical correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Inventory software; Order processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. Current experience with AvSight or Salesforce preferred
