The Edison Electric Institute (EEI) is seeking a talented and committed intern to join the State Regulatory Affairs team this summer. This role provides the opportunity to learn about and support the portfolio of projects and programs within our state regulatory affairs team. The dates of this internship are mid-May through mid-August and requires a commitment of 35 hours per week. Start and end dates are negotiable.
EEI is the trade association for all U.S. investor-owned electric companies. Our office is located in the heart of Penn Quarter, on Pennsylvania Avenue between the U.S. Capitol Building and the White House.
This is a paid internship.
EEI’s State Regulatory Affairs (SRA) team leads the Institute’s efforts in convening opportunities to engage with and educate state commissioners on the value of the regulated business model and on how their decisions affect our member companies and the customers they serve. This work is carried out mainly during the three annual and five regional National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioner (NARUC) meetings. Additionally, the SRA team engages with consumer advocates through the National Association of State Utility Consumer Advocates (NASUCA) and with other state-level stakeholders, like state energy offices through the National Association of State Energy Officials (NASEO), as part of the State Engagement team.

This is a hybrid position which requires the incumbent to reside in the District of Columbia metropolitan area for the duration of the internship and come into the office a minimum of three days each week.
