MetroHealth Simulation Training Specialist -Medical Simulation Training PRN in CLEVELAND, Ohio

Location: METROHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER

Biweekly Hours: 16.00

Shift: 7:00-5:00

Summary:

Supports the MetroHealth Simulation Center (MHSC) by conducting multi-disciplinary simulations with healthcare workers along the continuum of care. Prepares and independently runs low, mid-range, and high-fidelity simulations, including using task trainers, patient simulators, and standardized patients. Maintains and operates all technical aspects of the MHSC. Supports the MHSC’s programs in a manner consistent with the center’s mission. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

Required Meets one of the following: • Graduate of a healthcare program in a clinical field, and 3 years of experience in a clinical discipline such as Paramedic/EMT, Nursing, or another job-related clinical field. • In lieu of a healthcare program, any combination of education, training, and experience in a clinical discipline such as Nursing, Paramedic/EMT, or another related clinical field in addition to the experience stated above. Valid Ohio licensure and/or certification in a clinical discipline. Currently a Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS) from the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSIH), or obtains within 2 years of hire. Ability to instruct learners from all levels of the organization, which may include superiors. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and effectively meet tight deadlines. Ability to work independently. Strong critical-thinking, organization, and problem-solving skills. Proficient with PCs, e-mail, and Microsoft Office programs including Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint. Access to reliable transportation to travel to training sites throughout The MetroHealth System.

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a clinical field. Experience with human patient simulators. Experience with medical equipment. Experience working in information technology and/or delivering media equipment presentation. Experience working within an academic environment. Ability to work flexible hours as needed.

Physical Requirements: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required. Ability to lift up to seventy-five (75) pounds with assistance.
