About the Job



The R1 will be supervised by Dr. Ruan, performing structured research-related work assignments.

80%:
They are expected to perform a variety of molecular analyses (working with RNA and molecular cloning) and protein biochemistry techniques (i.e. western blotting, IP, and ChIP), histology (cryo and microtome sectioning and immunohistochemistry), cell culture, flow cytometry, and animal studies.

Responsibilities will also include maintenance of a transgenic mouse colony, including basic husbandry, genotyping, and assistance with tissue harvesting and in vivo experiments in mice.

20%:
Reagent ordering/preparation for your related research.
Participate in lab duty rotations
Train new lab members
Data analyses, assist in manuscript/grant writing.

Qualifications



Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in biological sciences, biochemistry, molecular biology, or related discipline with at least two years of experience, or a combination of related education and work experience to equal six years.

Prior hands-on lab experience with animals, cell culture, and molecular biology techniques.

Inquisitive, motivated, organized (able to recognize and prioritize work) and responsible.

Preferred Qualifications:
Have experience with organoid culture and colitis animal models.
Have published paper or manuscript in submission.
