Requires: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Business Administration, International Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Logistics Management, or a closely related business discipline, plus five years of experience with 1) category management for a multinational company in retail industry; 2) leading multi-channel product, e-commerce, product assortment, and demand planning strategy, 3) leading high performance team members that includes coaching and driving others to deliver measurable outcomes; 4) analyzing inventory practices and performance, and recommending improvement opportunities; and 5) overseeing vendor negotiations covering materials, orders, and product positioning within overall business strategy. Job Description:
Best Buy Co., Inc. has an opening for a Senior Category Lead at our corporate headquarters location in Richfield, Minnesota. Responsible for developing short and medium category strategy that delivers customer experience and financial goals of the business. Serve as a key conduit for vendors covering all business functions, such as e-commerce, demand planning, fulfillment, product delivery, and merchandising. Develop and oversee demand forecasting, as well as managing orders and distribution of products. Monitor inventory levels, transactions, and procedures, ensuring Best Buy accomplishes owned inventory, in-stock goals, and maximum efficiency. Collaborate with cross functional partners to create a digital first approach in e-commerce space. Communicate strategy and messaging around inventory, assortment, logistics, order fulfillment rates, and digital needs to internal/external partners. Coordinate business operations and performance for the category, providing summary recaps and reports on performance measures. Monitor P&L performance and develop action plans to meet financial goals. Review, understand, and integrate category digital analytics and customer needs. Oversee analyst team members, partnering to create training to support learning business areas and career development. The position supervises the work of an Associate Category Lead/Senior Category Analyst; two Category Analyst, Merchandising roles; and two Category Analyst, Demand Planning roles. The position offers a telecommuting benefit that allows the individual to work remotely up to two days per week from within commuting distance of Best Buy's corporate headquarters in Richfield, Minnesota.
