Job Description:
As a Project Manager you will work as an integral member of a market segment team providing vocational trucks and general construction equipment to customers.Grouped with both outside and inside sales representatives, this position will work with its team in determining customers equipment needs, writing specifications, and creating budgets and schedules for customer truck builds. The Project Manager will guide a Commercial Truck Upfit through its initial concept to final creation encompassing elements of design, engineering, estimating, purchasing and job processing.This position will be located at the Bloomington, MN branch for Aspen Equipment and reports to Daniel Berthiaume, Project Manager II.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Design commercial truck upfit solutionsInterpret specificationsCreate costing quotes per customer specificationsPerform weight analysis & vehicle layoutsCreate F.E.T. (Federal Excise Tax) estimatesCreate Shop OrdersCreate and/or facilitate customer proposal drawingsCreate and/or facilitate shop installation detail drawings as necessaryWork with the Production Department in scheduling and final build processesMonitor quality control standardsComplete vehicle certificationsClosed job analysis and recordingOther duties as assigned by managementJOB REQUIREMENTS:Technical Degree with multiple disciplines, including hydraulics, wiring schematics, structural and mechanical layout; or equivalent experience required.Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite, Excel being primary skill)Demonstrated math skillsMechanical Aptitude: Ability to understand fundamentals of mechanical systems as related to the commercial truck industryMust be highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to multi-taskMust be able to work with people across all levels of the organization, and possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbalHealth & Safety Requirements:Perform job functions in a safe manner.Wear all Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) required by Company policy for the job being performed.Know and follow established job specific and facility wide safety and health procedures and rules.Actively participate in safety and health training and demonstrate competency based on training received.Bring safety and health issues, unsafe acts, and safety suggestions to managements attention or correct those you can.Working Conditions:The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
