As a Data Engineer, You Will:

Software Development

  • Develop code and solutions that transfers/transforms data across various systems

  • Maintain deep technical knowledge of various tools in the data warehouse, data hub, and analytical tools

  • Ensure data is transformed and stored in efficient methods for retrieval and use

  • Maintain data systems to ensure optimal performance

  • Develop a deep understanding of underlying business systems involved with analytical systems

  • Follow standard software development lifecycle, code control, code standards and process standards

  • Maintain and develop technical knowledge by self-training of current toolsets and computing environments, participate in educational opportunities, maintain professional networks, and participate in professional organizations related to their tech skills

Systems Analysis

  • Work with key stakeholders to understand business needs and capture functional and technical requirements

  • Offer ideas that simplify the design and complexity of solutions delivered

  • Effectively communicate any expectations required of stakeholders or other resources during solution delivery

  • Develop and executes test plans to ensure successful rollout of solution, including accuracy and quality of data

Service Management

  • Effectively communicate to leaders and stakeholders any obstacles that occur during solution delivery

  • Define and manages promised delivery dates

  • Pro-actively research, analyzes, and predicts operational issues, informing leadership where appropriate

  • Offers viable options to solve unexpected/unknown issues that occur during solution development and delivery

Required Education, Experience & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent

  • 5+ years experience as a Data Engineer

  • Strong experience working with databases, data warehouses and SQL

  • Strong experience with building data pipelines using Python

  • Experience with data modeling, data mining and segmentation techniques

  • Experience with ETL/ELT tools like Pentaho Data Integration, Fivetran and dbt

  • Experience with designing, building and maintaining data ingestion and processing systems

  • Hands-on experience with cloud-based analytics solutions

Preferred Education, Experience & Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake

  • Experience with languages like Java, Scala, etc

  • Experience with NoSQL databases

  • Familiarity with BI tools

  • Machine learning skills
