Responsibilities:
- Observes and learns how to perform minor maintenance repair work in one or more of the following areas: general maintenance, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and paint.
- Under the direction of technical trade professionals, assists with performing minor maintenance repair work.Â
- Appropriately documents and completes work orders in CMMS.
- Participates in department projects
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Current high school or facilities maintenance vocational program enrollment.  Must have successfully completed at least the 10th grade prior to the start of the Cleveland Clinic intern program.

- Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
- Must be able to work in a highly complex and sometimes stressful environment. Â
Work Experience:
- Work experience in general electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, mechanical repair, HVAC or Military experience such as Utilities (UT), Builder (BU), and Machinists Mate (MM) or similar may be helpful.
Physical Requirements:
- Typical physical demands require full body motion including ability to perform work while bending, stooping, stretching and climbing ladders.Â
- Requires dexterity and strength sufficient to operate required tools and machinery; typically required to lift and carry machinery and/or equipment weighing 25 to 100 lbs. and/or assist with lifting weights exceeding 100 lbs.Â
- Requires color acuity sufficient to distinguish color-coded signage and systems.
- Requires reliable transportation.
