Education Requirements and Experience:
High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D) with three years in an office setting required. Associate's Degree in Business or Health Administration required with at least two (2) years minimum working with Tribal, State, and Federal programs/grants preferred.
Additional Qualifications and Skills:
Experience and knowledge of accounting/budgets, program operation, and grants/contracts management are preferred.
Previous grant writing experience/Grants.gov experience.
Experience and understanding of the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe (LLBO) are preferred.
Excellent oral and written comrnunication skills and customer service skills.
Good attendance and punctuality are required.
Pre-employment drug testing is mandatory for all Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe positions.

Job Description:
Division: Health Division
Reports to: Finance Manager
Worksite: Health Division Administration Office
Work Hours: M-F, 8:00am to 4:30pm
LLBO Status: Exempt
Safety Sensitive: Yes
License/Certification Requirements: A valid MN Driver's License, current insurance or insurable is preferred.

Summary: Responsible for assisting the Finance Manager with oversight and provisions of developing projects/grants within the Health Division aided through AFA, State, and Federal grant opportunities. Assists the Health division with grant writing to support and enhance the program's funding within the Health Division's programming.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Identify and assist with grant project needs for Division program areas.
Assisted program managers in developing grant project procedures for state and federal grants. Ensure that grants align with the objectives of the processes, budgets, deadlines, and work plan.
Assist program managers with work plans/budgets for grants.
Proficiency in writing skills to create clear, concise, and compelling grant proposals.
Strong research skills to identify potential funding opportunities.
Ability to gather and analyze data to support grant applications.
Organizational skills to manage multiple grant applications simultaneously.
Ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently under pressure.
Collaborating with program managers, the financial team, and all other stakeholders is essential.
Developed and maintained compliance with program projects for state and federal grants.
Basic understanding of budgeting principles to develop accurate and realistic budget proposals for grants. Maintain confidentiality and professional ethics while writing for time-sensitive/confidential information.
Understanding and sensitivity to Native American culture. Adhere to policies governing staff conduct.
Answer phones, route calls, take messages, greet and direct visitors, and answer routine inquiries for the reception area for the health division as needed. All other related duties as assigned.
