Job Description:
Regions Hospital is looking for an experienced psychiatric pharmacist to assist in the care of patients in our mental health unit and long-acting injectable clinic. Established in 1872, Regions Hospital is a private, not-for-profit organization. The hospital provides health care services for St. Paul and its surrounding communities, as well as for patients who come from greater Minnesota, Western Wisconsin, and other Midwestern states. Regions Hospital is part of the HealthPartners family of care.

The psychiatric clinical specialist is responsible for the medication therapy management of inpatients admitted to the Regions Hospital mental health unit. Working with the interdisciplinary team and through clinical assessment, the clinical specialist relates patient responses to medication therapy, communicates and documents those findings, makes recommendations to appropriate individuals, implements and monitors pharmaceutical care plans, and documents interventions. Their indirect patient care activities include pharmacy benefits management, teaching/mentoring, research, quality assurance, medication utilization review, and staff development. An additional major responsibility of this position is to serve as preceptor for students and residents.
Work Schedule:
Days with some evenings possible, plus every third weekend.
Required Qualifications:
Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS in Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy.
Current license to practice pharmacy in the State of Minnesota.
Currently functioning in a specialist capacity with a minimum of three years of specialty experience.
Completion of a specialty Post-Doctorate Pharmacy Program (i.e., residency or fellowship, e.g., ASHP-accredited PGY-2 specialty residency).
BPS Board Certification in psychiatric pharmacy (BCPP).
Preferred Qualifications:
ASHP-accredited PGY-2 residency in psychiatric pharmacy.
Meet ASHP residency preceptor criteria.
Licensed preceptor with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy.
Additional Information:
This is a union 1.0 FTE (80 hours per pay period) day shift position working in Saint Paul, MN. The full salary range for this position is $67.88-$77.30 per hour, based on experience. This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act, and eligible for benefits.
