Job Description:
MAJOR FUNCTION
Under direction of an engineer, the intern applies basic principles & techniques of mechanical engineering & analysis in areas such as: designing components in CAD, testing in the R&D lab, failure analysis, technical tasks in support of other engineers, & focused technical design improvement projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Usage of CAD software for modeling & drawing creation
Assist in defining test plans, test execution, & results interpretation
Basic failure and root cause analysis
Basic engineering analysis
Compare and contrast components for equivalency
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
Junior or Senior level in Mechanical Engineering program preferred
EXPERIENCE:
Previous intern experience desired
KNOWLEDGE & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
Basic knowledge of mechanical engineering design principals
Basic knowledge of manufacturing and assembly operation processes desired
Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple tasks
Ability to work in a team environment
Good oral and effective written communication skills
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Working knowledge in use of CAD, Creo desired
Working knowledge in use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Capability to learn new software
