Bio-Techne Payroll Clerk - 12 Month Fixed Term contract in Abingdon, Minnesota

Bio-Techne is a leading supplier of life science products to the research industry. Our company is growing at a fast pace, both organically and through acquisitions. Our global head office is based out of Minneapolis, (United States) whereas the European headquarters is based in Abingdon (United Kingdom), with a manufacturing facility in Bristol and subsidiaries in France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Poland, Hungary and Czech Republic.

Position Summary:

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the accurate processing of payroll on a monthly basis as well as ensuring all compliance with HMRC and other regulatory bodies, pension maintenance and compliance, financial reporting for payroll and dealing with queries from employees. In addition, the Payroll Clerk will be involved in ad-hoc projects to update and modernise systems and processes.

The ideal candidate will be hard working and enthusiastic with the ability to meet strict deadlines.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Essential duties/responsibilities for this role are as follows:

• Expenses; company credit card and out of pocket administration and journals

• UK payroll processing for 200 employees

• Liaise with outsourced payroll providers in 14 countries throughout Europe to process monthly foreign payrolls

• Monthly journal entries into financial systems

• Reconcile payroll control accounts

• Quarterly commission payments

• Maintenance of employee share schemes

• Ensure all employee and finance queries are responded to in a timely and accurate manner

• Work closely with HR Team to ensure monthly changes are actioned in payroll

• Develop ad-hoc management and operational reporting as required

• Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely

• Assist with relevant audits, including end of year and Sarbanes Oxley

Operational responsibilities:

Adhere to company operational procedures, ensuring you:

• Follow the Company’s KPI’s and ensure ratios are maintained

• Apply the Company’s commercial and operational policy in relevant territories

• Work within guidelines of Company Code of Ethics and Business Conduct

• Work with internal departments to maximise communication and improve efficiencies.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

• Fluent written and spoken English is essential.

• Competency in a second language relevant to Bio-Techne’s European customer base would be beneficial.

• Demonstrable experience of working in a similar role.

• Possess excellent IT skills, including experience of working with Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of Sage Payroll and Microsoft D365 would be beneficial.
