Copeland Innovation Engineering Co-op - (Fall 2024 Semester - August Start) in Dayton, Ohio

If you are looking for an opportunity to grow, Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Dayton, OH location at our Helix Innovation Center, you will be working directly with the innovation technologists and leaders to assist them in all the problems being worked on in the various ecosystems at the Helix (supermarket, kitchen, commercial building, residential home).

AS AN INNOVATION ENGINEERING CO-OP, YOU WILL:

  • Assist in research to understand a problem, which might involve internet searches or real-world interviews, focus groups etc.

  • Help with the process of ideation

  • Support prototype development in Helix ecosystems

  • Support testing, whether it is within a Helix ecosystem, or outside in the real world, including data collection and analysis

WHO YOU ARE:

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering - Mechanical, Electrical or Computer related fields of study preferred

  • Ability to work 40 hours per week during the scheduled semester

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship for this role will not be provided

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher

  • Sophomore or higher class status

  • Previous co-op or intern experience

  • Knowledge of coding languages preferred (C, Python, Node JS, etc)

  • Reliable transportation

About our Location

The Helix Innovation center is a 40,000-square-foot facility located on the University of Dayton’s campus in Dayton, Ohio. The Helix Center includes five, full-scale, simulated environments including a working commercial kitchen, a two-story residential home, a grocery store, a data center, and a light commercial building. The Helix Innovation Center is advancing research and education for the global HVACR industry by simulating how our products directly impact the industry, and through our innovation and research to continuously improve the food safety and quality for consumers, from farm to fork. With the blend of businesses and functions represented under this one roof, there are many opportunities for advancement within the Helix Innovation Center location.
