The Professional Development and Publishing Office at ASHP is actively recruiting for a part-time freelance copyeditor. The successful candidate will be responsible for copyediting peer-reviewed technical/scientific book chapters and manuscripts for ASHP in conformance with ASHP style and conventions of biomedical publishing. 

This is a part-time role, anticipated to be in the range of 10-20 hours per week.  This position is not eligible for benefits.  This position is a remote position and can be located anywhere in the continental United States.

What You Bring To ASHP:

  • B.A. in Communications or English or B.S. in life sciences
  • Minimum of 5 years of editorial experience that includes copyediting for a scientific or biomedical publisher
  • Experience with book publishing
  • Exceptional grasp of grammar and language skills
  • Superb attention to detail
  • Flexibility and good organizational skills
  • Familiarity with AMA editorial style
  • Ability to track changes using redline feature of MS Word
  • Ability to use Adobe Acrobat to edit/mark up article proofs
  • Knowledge and understanding of healthcare issues a plus but not required
