Overview
LANDSCAPE DESIGNER

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking Landscape Designer to join our team Minneapolis, MN office. The position will work in a collaborative and integrated team of professionals that include landscape architects, civil engineers, planners, surveyors, environmental scientists, and transportation engineers. Performs design and project coordination for assigned tasks. Works cooperatively as part of a design team and with other professionals to produce detailed construction drawings, exhibits, graphics, renderings, and computations. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Work with senior landscape architects to build increasing skills and successfully performs moderately complex design assignments on various projects as assigned.
* Maintains effective communications, both verbal and written, with other landscape team members and teams in engineering and survey, both in the location they are assigned and throughout the firm.
* Uses good time management methods and habits to meet schedule requirements, particularly for the tasks they lead.
* Uses developed organizational skills to complete assignments efficiently and thoroughly.
* Effectively uses current computer aided design and production software to maximize efficiency of production including AutoCAD, Sketch-up, Infraworks, Lumion, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, In-design), Microsoft Word, and Excel.
* Increasing responsibility to participate in project meetings with staff, clients, & regulatory agencies.
* Contributes to a positive environment and team approach for all assignments.
* Consistently uses the standards and procedures set in place.
* Effectively checks their work for accuracy.
Required Skills
* Knowledge and understanding of the design principles associated with landscape architecture within multi-discipline projects.
* Understands materials, sources and basic construction methods, including, but not limited to: plant materials, hardscape materials, lighting and irrigation.
* Proficient in current computer aided design and production software and ability to learn new versions or technology. Able to produce and deliver basic presentations.
* Demonstrate ability to communicate clearly and efficiently in verbal and written form.
* Experience with AutoCAD, Adobe Suite and 3-D Rendering (Lumion, Infraworks or similar softward)
Required Experience
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with a Degree in Landscape Architecture or Urban Planning (Experience or degrees in other disciplines may be substituted at Management's discretion)
* Working toward or Registered Landscape Architect
* Portfolio or work samples will be required if considered for an interview.
