Aerotek Weld Apprentice in Minneapolis, Minnesota
Job Description:
Will be fabricating a variety of hatches and railings
Horizontal and vertical MIG welding on a variety of material, but about 90% aluminum, 6% steel, and 3% stainless.
Welds range from 18-gauge to 3/8".
Will perform a small amount of TIG as needed.
Will use .360 wire, 4043 wire, 5356 wire, and .035 on occasion.
Inspect their own welds using visual methods.
Some welds are required to be certified.
Each welder will be on shift with about 4-5 other welders.
Pay: $20-$24hr

Work Environment:
This is a large manufacturing facility with assembly, warehouse, and fabrication. It is not the cleanest facility, but is built on a strong culture and team-first mentality.
They have a lot of tenure in their fabrication areas. This position is at the East Brooklyn Park Facility.
Each welder has their own welding area/bay on the manufacturing floor. Welding equipment (except helmet) will be provided.
No smoking facility - you cannot smoke anywhere on their property!
This is mostly production style work to produce building products such as access doors, entrance grates, floor doors, fire cabinets, roof hatches, smoke vents, and stair treads
