VAN DRIVERS FOR SENIOR CITIZENS IMMEDIATE OPENINGS VAN DRIVER (BOTH CDL & NON-CDL AVAILABLE) Job Purpose: Provide quality transportation services that supports older and disabled adults to live mobile independent lives. Transports passengers safely by inspecting and driving van/bus along designated & On-demand routes; helping & assist passengers; collecting revenue; maintaining safe operations; operate lift; secure wheelchairs, pre & post vehicle inspections, navigate throughout the county, clean interior & exterior of vehicle, maintain clean driving record. Duties: * Organizes work by obtaining route assignment; completing paperwork; obtaining & counting/dual verification of fare box. * Prepares vehicle by completing operator inspections; reporting required repairs. * Picks up and discharges passengers by following designated route; stopping at designated locations; announcing locations; calling in delays; requesting emergency maintenance; making operator repairs. * Collects revenue by monitoring and encouraging donations. * Provides for passenger comfort by regulating heating, ventilation, and lighting systems; enforcing passenger conduct rules. * Helps passengers by providing directions and route information; providing assistance to people with disabilities; reporting accidents; calling for assistance. * Maintains safe conditions by complying with traffic regulations; observing traffic conditions; avoiding dangerous situations; enforcing passenger safety rules. * Completes reports by entering required information. * Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops & in-service training; reviewing publications. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Must work well with older adults. Must pass BCII Criminal Background Check & possess no disqualifying offenses. Must pass DOT Physical. Clear driving record. Must pass pre, post, and random drug & alcohol screening. Must pass ODOT fit to drive physical exam Must complete CPR, AED, First Aid, Blood Borne Pathogen certifications Must successfully complete Defensive Driving, DRIVE, Wheelchair Secure, & Lift Operation Certifications & Training. MUST posses a valid OHIO Drivers License (clean driving record) Provide resume & three (3) professional references for consideration.
