About the Job



This continuous job posting is intended to collect applications for one or more of the Master of Professional Studies (MPS) in Addictions Counseling and MPS in Integrated Behavioral Health courses as needed for any particular semester. Provide instruction for ADDS and IBH two to three credit graduate level courses.
Work with the Director of Graduate Studies for the IBH and ADDC programs and with other resident/adjunct faculty to ensure successful integration of required coursework and state licensing requirements.
Use industry and content expertise and keep current with research findings, workforce trends, professional ethics and policies related to culturally sensitive and ethnically relevant mental health and substance use counseling best practices to inform depth and breadth of course content.
Utilize new technologies to enhance curriculum delivery and accessibility to accommodate working adult students.
Utilize pedagogical best practices for diverse working adult learners.
Must be able to teach at scheduled class times, including evening and weekends and respond to course related student inquiries within 48 hours.
Proven ability to work successfully with diverse groups of people.
This position offers a flexible work arrangement as a hybrid position and has the unique opportunity to help shape and be responsible for the student experience.

Qualifications



REQUIRED:
A demonstrative skill & commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion
Master's degree
An earned graduate degree in counseling psychology, clinical psychology, mental health counseling, community counseling, counselor education or master of social work from an accredited institution of higher education.
A minimum of 7 years clinical practice and/or agency management with co-occurring mental health, substance use disorders
Clinical or teaching experience in thematic areas such as co-occuring mental health and addictions care, assessment and treatment planning, differential and/or advanced diagnostics, human development, evidence-based counseling skills etc.
PREFERRED:
An earned doctorate in one of the academic fields listed above.
Licensed as a professional clinician (LADC, LPC, LPCC, LGSW, LICSW, LAMFT, LMFT or LP) or qualified to obtain such licenses in Minnesota.
A minimum of 5 semesters of teaching experience in a higher education setting with a solid record of strong student evaluations.
A minimum of 10 years clinical practice and/or agency management with co-occurring mental health, substance use disorders
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills and proven ability to work successfully with diverse groups of people.

About the Department



The College of Continuing and Professional Studies offers two affiliated degrees - a Master of Professional Studies in Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) degree, and a Master of Professional Studies in Addictions Counseling (ADDC) - graduate degrees designed to meet workforce needs and fulfill the training and education requirements for licensure.
The ADDC program provides academic preparation for licensure as a Minnesota Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor License (LADC) and the IBH program prepares students for dual licensure as an LADC and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).
This position reports to the Associate Director for Graduate Education.
