Job Description:
Kemps a subsidiary of Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) is looking for a qualified Overnight Laboratory Tech to join our team at our onsite Quality and Assurance Laboratory **See all qualifying requirements prior to applying. Online resumes accepted until filled.
Starting Pay Rate - $26.24 or DOE
Schedule: Wednesday through Saturday 12:00AM-10:30AM
General Purpose: Test all raw, intermediate, and finished products as well as collecting and testing environmental samples according to established procedures. Discover and prevent defects and improve quality. Work with a high degree of accuracy and concentration to produce valid test results in a timely manner.

Exhibit and adhere to all of Kemps GMP, Quality and Safety policies.
Follow standard procedures and detailed instructions.
Obtain samples for testing from containers, pasteurizers, tanks and vats in manufacturing facility.
Testing of raw materials and finished product.
General lab preparation and cleaning.
Take finished product samples as needed or directed including package and syringe samples.
Perform taste analysis of finished products.
Operate and maintain lab equipment.
Compute formulas and make calculations.
Observe and accurately record details.
Analyze solution for chemical concentration.
Maintain State Lab Certification program.
Perform all quality tests as required by Regulatory and Kemps Foods, including but not limited to microbiological, Direct Microscopic Count, Antibiotic testing, Butterfat testing, and EQA analysis on raw and pasteurized product. Follow procedures as written in Standard Methods or as directed by the Quality Control Manager.
Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues.
Maintain and calibrate all lab equipment.
Collect purchased product and ingredient samples as needed or directed.
Maintain all written records in an accurate manner.
Must be able to follow written and verbal directions.
Experience in Microsoft systems.
Complete all work before shift closing.



Qualifications Required
A minimum of five (5) years experience in sterile plating procedures, use of microscope, knowledge of standard laboratory instrumentation
State certified for charm SL (antibiotic) Certified Industrial Supervisor.
Milk flavoring trained.
Must be detail oriented.
In lieu of experience, a minimum of 4 years combined education (science related discipline from either associates degree with experience in lab related field or bachelors degree).
Three year freeze on this job.
