Overview



Element has an opportunity for a Non-Metallic Materials Testing Internship. In this role, you will work with engineers and technicians to perform daily tasks related to non-metallic materials testing including sample preparation, test setup, testing, and reporting. This opportunity will give you invaluable on the job experience and exposure to the materials testing field.





Responsibilities



Perform a variety of physical property testing including, but not limited to; tensile, compression, flexural, hardness, thermal conductivity, flammability, water absorption, vapor transmission, color, gloss, adhesion, etc.
Prepare and analyze non-metallic samples for testing
Assist testing engineers with tasks as needed






Skills / Qualifications



Working toward a Bachelor's or Associate's degree in the field of Materials Science or related field
Willingness to learn and participate in testing within a laboratory setting
Excellent communication skills
