Entry-Level Software Consultants will assist the implementation team in designing, implementing, and testing the necessary configuration changes to a number of packaged products within the Oracle Utilities suite of solutions. 

As a Consultant, a Typical Day Might Include the Following

  • Will work as part of a small to medium sized team throughout the entire software development lifecycle
  • Travel on-site. Yes, this position requires up to 80% travel to work with our clients face to face or work out of our Atlanta-based office.  Generally, spend Monday through Thursday on the road
  • The location of clients varies but is generally within the United States and Canada.  International projects may be available in the future
  • Facilitating requirements discussions with business subject matter experts
  • Creating requirements documentation
  • Designing a solution based on the designated software applications
  • Configuring software using application-specific configuration tools
  • Testing software modifications
  • Rolling out production environments
  • Training clients
  • And providing production support

Requirements Include the Following

 Education and Qualifications 

  • Entry level with up to 2 years’ experience
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems Technology, or related technology field

Skills and Specifications

  • Ability to travel up to 80% of the time (generally Monday through Thursday on client site)
  • Follow strict coding guidelines and adhere to corporate policies
  • Ability to define, document and review project requirements and use cases
  • Create and comprehend requirements and working code
  • Strong communication skills are a must (oral and written)
  • Ability to work as part of a team, maintain a good work ethic, be a self-starter
  • Ability to learn new technology, training on Oracle Utilities will be provided

Preferred / Highly Desired Qualifications

  • Development experience with Java, JavaScript, ASP.NET, ASP, C#.NET, VB.NET preferred
  • Experience with HTML, XML, XPATH, XSL, XSLT, and PL/SQL is preferred
  • Ability to write QA documents (test plans, procedures, test reports)
  • Ability to thoroughly test code
  • Provide technical and functional solutions
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle is a plus
  • Knowledge of Oracle Utilities Meter Data Management (MDM), or LODESTAR, Rules Language, and the energy industry is a plus
