Job Description:
Need 1 full time, temporary, seasonal Delivery Driver to work in Rushford, MN.
From: 05/15/2024 - 12/01/2024
Work: 40 hrs./week, Mon.-Fri. 8 hrs./day, 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Drivers will start and end each day at the listed place of employment. Shift starting and or ending times may vary depending on weather, route, and traffic conditions. The job is seasonal, approximately 6 months per year. Employer may request, but not require, that workers work more than the stated daily hours, on the worker's Sabbath, or on federal holidays. Additional hours are voluntary.
All hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at 1.5 times the regular rate of pay.

JOB DUTIES: Delivering fresh produce from our farm in SE Minnesota to customers around the state. Involves safely driving, fueling, and maintaining a 35' straight truck with a capacity greater than 26,001 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) for delivery of ag products from farm to market. Drivers will load and unload trucks using special loading equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks. Drivers are expected to follow all safety procedures for vehicle operation & load security.
Being on time and reliable are important responsibilities of the job.
Drivers should be able to : check all load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy, check conditions of truck after contents have been loaded and unloaded to ensure no damage has occurred, check truck to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order, collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes, follow special cargo related procedures, such as checking refrigeration system for transport of perishable ag products, inventory and inspect foods to be moved to determine quantities and conditions, load or unload trucks using special equipment as necessary, maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status and follow application state/federal regulations, maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods, operate equipment such as truck cab computers, CB radios, phones, or GPS equipment to exchange necessary info with bases, supervisors, or other drivers, perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks such as adding oil, fuel, fluids, performing minor repairs, and washing trucks, plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions using computer equipment or GPS or other navigation systems as necessary, read and interpret maps to determine routes, remove debris from loaded trailers, report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to vehicles.

JOB REQUIRMENTS: Drivers must possess a valid driver's license for operating a 35' straight truck with a capacity over 26,001 pounds GVW, meeting the requirements of a valid driver's license issued by any US state or a valid US commercial driver's license (CDL) or an acceptable international equivalent. Manual labor of light, medium, and sometimes heavy lifting is required, including ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. English language desired but not required. No minimum education required. Drug screen may be required post hire and will be at employer’s expense. Failure of drug screen or failure to comply may result in termination of employment.

EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts. Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.
