About the Job



Responsible for assisting in the athletic training coverage for 16 varsity sports requiring evenings and weekends. Utilize organizational skills to manage athletic training students, manage athletic training facility, and supervise inventory. Position will work directly with the team physician and other members of the health care network. Position may serve as a preceptor or for the athletic training education program.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Delivers athletic training services to members of the intercollegiate athletics teams as assigned, by the Assistant Director of Sports Medicine, including but not limited to, coordination of physical exams, evaluation and treatment of injuries at both traditional and non-traditional practices and games, design and supervision of rehabilitation programs, and practice/game preventative techniques.
Provide direct athletic training coverage to teams assigned by the Assistant Director of Sports Medicine.
Team travel expected and will include overnight trips.
Refers injured athletes to appropriate physicians according to guidelines in the Standard Operating Procedures.
Communicate usual and customary information with coaches of assigned teams.
May serve as preceptor for the Athletic Training Education Programs.
May supervise athletic training students in the daily operations of the athletic training facility.
Prepares annual injury and treatment reports for assigned sports.
Exhibit behaviors in strict compliance with the Code of Professional Practice.
Utilize technology within an athletic training setting.
Performs other duties not specifically stated herein but deemed essential to the operation of the athletic training program as assigned by the Assistant Director of Sports Medicine Services.
Sport Assignments:
Dependent upon interest and level of expertise.
The minimum salary range for this position is $43,727 and will be determined based on experience.

Qualifications



Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required.
Certification by the Board of Certification (BOC) is required.
Experience in athletic training programs, and/or with rehabilitative equipment.
Registered with Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice or eligible.
Demonstrated strong written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
MA/MS degree in athletic training, exercise science, kinesiology, or related field.
Two years working as a certified athletic trainer in collegiate athletics.
Experience traveling with collegiate athletic teams
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid Instructor
Demonstrated strong oral and interpersonal skills as a healthcare provider.
