    As our Primary Stroke Center Program Manager, you will develop and implement our inpatient and outpatient stroke related performance improvement plans and processes. Your duties will include but are not limited to: 

    • Coordinating efforts and programs across our participating departments. 

    • Setting priorities for primary stroke center development.  

    • Initiating and managing the operations associated with facilitating performance improvement teams.

  • Responsibilities:

    • Develops and implements inpatient and outpatient stroke related performance improvement plans and processes, and coordinates efforts across participating departments/institutes.
    • Supports program development, internal and external outreach activities and performance improvement initiatives.
    • Forms teams and ensures all appropriate clinical areas are represented.
    • Coordinates team meetings, prepares and maintains documentation, facilitates teams by using appropriate performance improvement methodology.
    • Leads annual accreditation preparation, presentation, and response processes.
    • Utilizes current knowledge of Joint Commission disease specific certification and other regulatory agency standards.
    • Educates and/or organizes educational activities for continuum of care providers (staff, nursing, mid-levels, residents, etc.) in conjunction with PSC nursing staff, to keep current with AHA/ASA recommendations and updated standards of care.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Education:

    • Registered Nurse with strong clinical background in acute care, ambulatory care; or Bachelor's Degree with significant Quality Management background.
    • Master's Degree preferred.
    • Previous Primary Stroke Center or program management experience preferred.
    • Demonstrated success in the application of program development and operations, performance improvement methodologies, project team facilitation and/or systems development applications.

    Certifications:

    • Current state licensure as an RN.
    • Certification in NIHSS and Healthcare Quality preferred.

    Complexity of Work:

    • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
    • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
    • Demonstrated competency in the use of computer applications (Microsoft Office), statistical programs and clinical and administrative databases.

    Work Experience:

    • Minimum three years experience with appropriate patient population and/or quality management projects, systems development or equivalent knowledge base.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.
    • Will require periods of sitting, standing and the ability to travel to various locations throughout the Cleveland Clinic; must have normal or corrective vision, ability to clearly communicate verbally by phone. Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
    • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

    Personal Protective Equipment:

    • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
