- Administers skilled patient treatments from Physical Therapy evaluation findings according to departmental policies and procedures to a varied patient population.
- Adapts techniques and instructions as necessary to progress care, plan for discharge and provide patient/family education.
- Observes and reports patient responses to treatment to Physical Therapist.
- Serves as an assistant to the Physical Therapist when the PT performs tests, evaluations and complex treatments.
- Maintains effective open communication with co-workers, physicians, and patients.
- Communicates patient care activities effectively, including maintaining precise, informative, current, legible records of all patients being treated.
- Schedules and coordinates patient care activities effectively.
- Directs and supervises support personnel in delegated functions.
- Achieves personal and professional development through participation in continuing education, in-services, and staff orientation.
- Organizes work assignments and time without compromising quality patient care, to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency.
- Assists in the development and monitoring of performance improvement initiatives.
- Completes mandatory education and training in order to maintain organization and department specific competencies and requirements. Maintains applicable certification/licensure.
- Maintain s required CPR certification (BLS).
- Follows hospital/system and department policies and procedures with special attention to attendance and punctuality, confidentiality, dress code and display of ID badge, and safety.
- Other duties as assigned
Education:
- Associate's degree in Physical Therapy.
Certifications:
- Current license to practice as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the State of Ohio. Maintains current CPR certification.
