Southwestern Mental Health Center, Inc. is a private, non-profit agency, established in 1959 by Cottonwood, Jackson, Nobles, Pipestone and Rock Counties in Southwest Minnesota. Our goal is to provide a broad scope of quality mental health services to people of all ages and economic backgrounds. Southwestern Mental Health Center is licensed by the Minnesota Department of Human Services and has fully qualified and credentialed staff offering a variety of mental health services. SWMH is proud to serve as the bridge students cross between the classroom and professional world. Our practicum experience provides students a chance to become part of our organization, while educating them with new skill sets, practical experiences & networking within the industry.
Graduate Level Students & Social Work Students will be trained to provide diagnostic assessments, functional assessments, level of care determination, case management and treatment of individuals, families and groups. This includes all races, creeds, ethnicity, background or ability to pay in a Minnesota Department of Human Services certified 5 County Community Mental Health Center. As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, students will be exposed to a variety of services and programs within and outside of the Center including: - Psychiatric Evaluation - Medication Testing - Psychological Testing - Telephone, On Site and Mobile Face to Face Mental Health Crisis Response Services - Adult Intensive Residential Treatment
