Graduate Assistant: Strength & Conditioning

Position Overview: The Graduate Assistant of Strength and Conditioning reports to the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach and assists in all aspects of strength and conditioning for student-athletes. Please Note: This position requires the willingness and ability to work, as well as occasional travel, mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as dictated by sports assignments.

Start Date: August 1, 2024

Essential Duties:
Develops strength and conditioning programs for male and female student-athletes with review from the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach.
Supervises and coordinates strength and conditioning programs for men's and women's sports as required.
Responsible for strength testing and evaluation for assigned sports.
Responsible for strength and conditioning programs that elicit safe and correct execution of exercise techniques.
Effectively communicates with athletic trainers and coaches on exercise protocol.
Participates in regular meetings with strength and conditioning staff, athletic training staff, athletics staff, etc.
Promotes the Strength and Conditioning program at Concordia University, St. Paul, at requested times, including but not limited to recruiting prospective student-athletes.
Represented the department at the university, Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, national-level conferences, and professional development opportunities as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach assigned.
Has a desire to implement and grow a sports performance (ie. Heart rate monitors, GPS, velocity-based training, etc) program.
Assists in implementing CSP Strength and Conditioning's intern program.
Possesses an attitude and a passion to grow and develop as a professional.
Assists in daily maintenance of strength and conditioning facilities.
Performs related duties as required or assigned.
Performs quality and successful work in the classroom.
Education & Experience:
Required: Bachelor's Degree
Required: Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) by the CSCCa or Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) by the NSCA within one year of hire.
Required: Maintenance of CPR, AED and First Aid training required.
Preferred: Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) by the CSCCa before the employment starting date and maintained throughout the appointment
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science, or related field.
Preferred: Previous strength and conditioning coaching experience with collegiate student-athletes preferred.
Tuition & Stipend:

$7,000 per year for 2 years
Full tuition waiver upon successful admission into graduate school
