Amentum Waterfront Manager in Washington, District Of Columbia

Amentum is seeking a Waterfront Manager to help maintain former Navy and Coast Guard ships. As the Waterfront Manager, you will coordinate Technical Support Services, which will include sustainment material, systems upgrades, systems integration support, training, and other related efforts associated with the transfer and acquisition, operation, and maintenance of naval vessels, systems, and related ship support infrastructure within their inventories. A permanent presence on site is required during each ship support project to monitor operation and maintenance support activities. Work locations include various CONUS and OCONUS sites.

Essential responsibilities and daily duties will include:

  • Oversees all aspects of ship maintenance and repair support projects reporting directly to the Program Manager (PM).

  • Interacts with technical leads for each area of expertise to monitor task progress, identify issues that impact the project schedule, and implement remedies.

  • Responds to deficiencies, delays, remedies, etc. and coordinates with responsible parties.

  • Ensures all contracted work is completed on time and in accordance with subcontract agreements.

  • Conduct/technical evaluations of structural analysis and load calculations to ensure the sound design and compliance meeting naval requirements.

  • Leverages hands-on experience working and inspecting ship structures, tank, voids, intakes/exhaust systems knowledge of welding requirements.

  • Demonstrate knowledge about sheet metal, preservation, insulation, piping and electrical systems on naval ships.

  • Utilize computers including the Microsoft Office Suite for reviewing and compiling information for data entry and transferring files and electronic/digital scans. Communicate effectively in writing and orally.

  • Maintain, organize, track status, and prioritize engineering documents (both physical and electronic records).

Minimum Requirements

  • 10 years of experience managing complex projects involving USG ships, submarines, or combat systems.

  • Ability to supervise complex maintenance availabilities for ships, boats, and craft ranging in size from 7-150 meters.

  • Naval shipbuilding and overhaul experience in a public or private shipyard environment, including experience in managing a large and diverse group of individuals ranging from professional to industrial worker.

  • Foreign Military Sales (FMS) support experience.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Ability to work onsite and remote.

  • Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS (up to 25%). Ability to obtain a United States Passport.

  • Ability to obtain a secret US government clearance. Note: US citizenship is required to obtain a secret clearance.
