JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible to maintain equipment in accordance with company specifications. Routinely installs, maintains, repairs and troubleshoots all aspects of electronic and mechanical drilling instrumentations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for ensuring instrumentation systems are installed and functioning correctly.

• Commission and function test new system installations

• Troubleshoot and repair electronic and mechanical drilling instrumentation.

• Train rig personnel on operation of various instrumentation systems

• Train and share knowledge with Jr. technicians.

• Maintain spare parts inventory in remote locations.

• Document and record part serial numbers and asset numbers to be compiled in a master database for asset tracking.

• Work closely with rig personnel and clients to insure customer satisfaction with rig instrumentation and monitoring system

• Coordinate with the office new installations and additional equipment installations to existing jobs

• Other duties may be assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent

5 - 7 years of related experience

Knowledge of electrical principles and various electrical codes

Proficient at using of various types of test equipment

Demonstrate ability to read electrical drawings

Ability to create one line drawings and redline existing drawings to create “as built” drawings

Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and DOS systems

Knowledge of drilling operations and drilling rig equipment

Knowledge of electronics and sensor troubleshooting

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bilingual in Spanish
