Pay: $25.00 per hour

Schedule: Full-Time, 8-hour shift

Essential Duties:

1. Perform maintenance and repair of structures, plumbing, and drainage systems.

2. Recommend contracted assistance when on-center repair is not possible.

3. Perform repair or replacement of plumbing fixtures, washers, seals, etc.

4. Assist with the repair or replacement of faulty or damaged fixtures, outlets and fuses as directed.

5. Perform minor construction and repair of structural woodwork.

6. Install window shades or coverings, security locks, etc.

7. Help prepare surfaces for finishing, i.e., painting, as directed.

8. Direct offenders assigned to facility maintenance.

Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent (GED) required.

• Three (3) years full-time, wage­ earning experience in plumbing or pipefitting.

• A valid driver's license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.

• Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements and pass an annual background check, both of which must be approved by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ).
