Nestlé R&D Center, Inc. seeks a Tech Product Development Specialist in Marysville OH

Duties: Lead product development activities that deliver innovative and competitive products/processes/systems in response to business needs in accordance with requirements. Develop products in a timely manner, using innovative ingredients / processes with ideas generated from consumer and technical insights. Manage bench and pilot plant trials through factory scale-up. Products to comply with 60/40+ and other corporate guidelines as well as agreed upon timelines. Work in project teams within R&D, Application Groups, Markets, Factories (Nestle & Co-man) and Business Units. Participate in training for Application Groups, including presenting in Product Development workshops. Document all product development activities in accordance with Nestle Idea to Launch (I2L) process, including the use of NesTMS (Trial Management System). Communicate findings effectively with stakeholders and partners. Ensure intellectual asset management practices are applied (Freedom to Operate, Prior Art, Protection Strategy, etc.). Comply with all Nestlé Integrated Management Systems and all other company policies and procedures.

 

Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Food Science, Food Technology, or a closely related field plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or in food and beverage industry. Alternatively, employer also accepts Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Food Science, Food Technology, or a closely related field plus 1 year of experience in the job offered or in food and beverage industry.

Required experience must include 1 year of experience in each of the following:

  • Experience with project management in research and development;
  • Product Development experience across food and beverage formulation and processing, specifically laboratory experience creating dairy and non-dairy emulsions;
  • Experience using ingredients to create emulsions;
  • Experience conducting scientific literature review including patents, technologies and IP Management;
  • Experience in sensory evaluation of food and beverage products;
  • Experience monitoring and determining shelf-life of products under various conditions;
  • Experience defining test methods for determination of shelf-life of emulsion-based products;
  • Experience using Design of Experiments and SAP in food and beverage trial management within the Pilot Plant and industrial settings;
  • Experience creating written product recipes and specifications;
  • Experience in product trial process;
  • Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams to support new product development and introduction;
  • Working with consumer and sensory insight methodologies used in product development of emulsion-based products;
  • Experience with contract development and management for external partnerships in research and development activities.

Domestic and international travel required up to 10% to support industrialization of developed products and for training purposes. Telework permitted up to 2 days per week.
