Blue Origin LLC Fluids Engineer, Senior - Lunar Permanence in Seattle, Washington

At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our diverse team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight! This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. We are looking for a fluids design engineer to craft the gas systems for the Lunar spacecraft. Work will include the complete life cycle of the system from definition, interfaces, conceptual design, detailed design, component development, assembly, verification, and operation. This position goes from initial design to analyzing, to getting hardware, and then landing on the moon! A successful candidate will understand fluid systems, fluid dynamics, and compressible flow for space vehicles. This position will be responsible for analyses of the gas system to verify the design of valves, propulsion elements, sensors, piping, and other equipment on the flight vehicle. Our team will size, select materials, and analyze components for structural integrity due to pressure, vibration, fracture, fatigue, etc. You will work with suppliers or Blue Origin groups to identify components and support procurement, fabrication, and installation. You will also manage the project plans for various hardware including cost and schedule. Bring your technical expertise, leadership skills, and dedication to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required! This position interfaces directly with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program.
