The Director of Talent Acquisition will direct the TA function, supporting the overall talent strategy of Nurse Recruitment for Boston Children’s Hospital. This includes leading and managing a diverse team of talent acquisition professionals in the development and execution of the TA delivery model, the candidate experience, and the overall operating efficiency of the team. The Director will leverage technology and innovation to optimize the TA function and position Boston Children’s Hospital as an employer of choice. Will develop and implement recruiting plans, programs, and policies that support the Hospital’s mission and oversee outsourced recruiting strategies and vendor relationships.
This Director of TA, Nurse Recruitment will:
- Partner with senior leadership to identify operational goals and leverage the TA team to support those goals. Develop and manage programs and strategies to attract candidates.
- Facilitate workforce capacity planning practice in collaboration with other HR stakeholders to set hiring goals for customer base.
- Develop strategies, tactics and goals for TA team in alignment with workforce capacity planning goals while working within the enterprise-wide TA strategy.
- Interface with senior leadership to identify key talent acquisition initiatives. Will lead national and hospital-wide executive searches.
- Develop, implement and oversee best practices regarding recruiting/staffing strategies to position the Hospital as an “employer of choice.”
- Collaborate with Hospital leadership in developing and presenting the strategic vision for talent acquisition. Will represent the Hospital at external recruiting/employment events as well as at internal departmental meetings.
- Successfully lead and manage Talent Acquisition Team, including hiring, developing, and evaluating staff. Will provide leadership, guidance, and advocacy to team members.
- Develop, manage, and monitor the operating budget for the department.
- BA degree plus a minimum of eight years of experience in recruitment, human resources or related field, including at least three years of experience managing/supervising staff.
- Proven balance of strategic thinking combined with ability to accomplish objectives.
- Strong business acumen including planning, analytical, and creative abilities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and internal/external networking skills.
- Proven ability to build effective relationships with senior management and to influence, educate, and champion Talent Acquisition’s initiatives related to their business plan.
- Reputation as a leader and content expert within the employment/HR community; Active within professional and community-based organizations.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with ability to create effective business partnerships both internally and external to the organization.
- Strong skills as a manager, coach, advisor, and mentor.
