This Lead Nurse Practitioner in Neurosurgery will be responsible for:
- Develops and coordinates unit-based APRN orientation/onboarding, training and professional development activities.
- Collaborates with nurse leadership to participate in APRN performance review, competency assessment and work assignment.
- Coaches, trains, mentors and provides ongoing feedback to APRNs in the practice/program. Meets routinely with APRNs and promotes productivity. Identifies strengths and collaborates with nurse leadership to develop individualized plans that address areas of improvement, development or desired acquisition of skills.
- Establishes a work environment that supports teamwork and a collegial atmosphere.
- Drives ongoing strategic initiatives and ensures adherence to policies. Ensures hospital initiatives are meeting leadership defined targets.
- Promotes quality improvement processes, power cycles and supports network improvement initiatives and quality measure goals. Ongoing assessment, and adjustment, of processes to ensure the provision and evaluation of high quality care.
- Serves as a liaison for APRN staff with nurse leadership, physician leadership and APRN leadership.
- Maintains clinical practice with direct care responsibilities.
To qualify, you must have:
- Master’s degree
- Current National Certification as a Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) or Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist (PCNS) granted by a Board recognized certifying organization
- Current MA license as a Registered Nurse
- Current MA license as a Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) or Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist (PCNS)
- MA Controlled Substance Registration
- DEA License
- 5+ years APRN experience
