Major/Essential Functions
- Provides inpatient and outpatient adult neurology clinical services including serving as stroke consultants in assigned neurology outpatient clinic and providing consultation services at the affiliated hospitals
- Conducts neuro-interventional procedures and provides neuro-critical care or stroke services
- Supervises resident clinics and participates in the overall teaching program for teaching and training of residents and medical students, to include presentation of lectures
- Performs academic research and scholarly activities in the Department of Neurology
- Participates in committees and other administrative duties as assigned by Chair
- Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations; adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures
- Demonstrate professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine’s Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility.
Required Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:
- M.D. / D.O.
- Successful completion of an accredited Neurology Residency Program
- Successful completion of Endovascular Surgical Neuroradiology (ESN) fellowship and Neuro-Critical Care (NCC), or Vascular Neurology (VN), from an accredited fellowship program
- Texas medical license or eligible for licensure in Texas
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (Spanish and English)
- Board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology for Assistant Professor or higher level
- Regional or emerging national reputation in the area of specialty for Associate professor or higher level
