General Description | The Cyber Center Coordinator, under the direction of the Title V Project Director and in collaboration with STEM Division, will manage the day-to-day operations, data collection, and communications for the Cyber Center. The Coordinator will implement innovative student workshops activities for students enrolled in Data Science, Cybersecurity, and Cyber Forensics, then expanding into other STEM Division programs; facilitate the annual assessment of relevant industry-specific technological tools for the Cyber Center programs; and collaborate with content experts to offer faculty/staff workshops in the Cyber Center. In addition, the Coordinator will support instructors in the development of project-based activities using industry-specific technological tools in the Cyber Center, program assessment, and oversee the grant resources. |
Characteristics, Duties, and Responsibilities | • Coordinate training workshops for faculty and students on the use of the industry-specific technological tools in the Cyber Center. • Collaborate with Cyber and STEM instructors to develop on-campus, industry-specific ELOs that may include relevant technological tools in the Cyber Center. • Engage students in the use of industry-specific technological tools in the Cyber Center. • Conduct annual assessment of relevant industry-specific technological tools for the Data Science, Cybersecurity, and Cyber Forensics programs. Recommend updates to tools in the Cyber Center based on data-informed decision-making. • Assist the Title V Project Director with hiring, training, and supervising student workers in the Cyber Center. • Develop, implement and manage Cyber Center reservation system. • Maintain grant equipment inventory for the Cyber Center. • Provide weekly grant usage reports for the Cyber Center. • Promote ELOs through informational sessions, Canvas, social media, class visits, etc. • Collect data and assess results of experiential learning on student learning outcomes. Recommend modifications to existing services based on data-informed decision-making. • Prepare and submit reports to the Title V Project Director, as required. • Research and inform project staff/faculty on best practices in experiential learning for student success. • Share grant updates and available resources for including ELOs in the classroom and in other areas of the college with the Experiential Education Advisory Committee. • Collaborate with the Title V staff, faculty, and Program Advisory Team on student success and retention initiatives. • Perform additional related duties as assigned. |
Education Requirements | Bachelor’s degree in a related field required. A Master’s degree is preferred. |
Experience | Preferred Experience: • Title V Grant, EOF, or related cohort-based program experience working directly with students. • Bilingual (Spanish/English) • Experience working in Information Technology, Web Development, Cybersecurity, and/or Cyber Forensics. • Knowledge of industry-specific technological tools for Cybersecurity, Cyber Forensics, and Data Science programs. • Proven record of building partnerships with employers and agencies. • Experience with student learning outcomes assessment. |
Competencies and Skills Required | • Commitment to the goal of improving student success for Hispanics/Latinx students. • Proven ability to manage grant timelines and meet project objectives and goals. • Problem-solving skills and data analysis experience. • Strong interpersonal, communication (written and oral), and presentation skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365. • Knowledge of industry-specific technological tools for Cybersecurity, Cyber Forensics, and Data Analysis programs. • Familiarity with Ellucian Colleague, Business Objects, Canvas, and project management tools. |
Physical Demands and Work Environment | • This position’s duties are normally performed in a typical interior/residence work environment, based on the activity scheduled. • Some physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. • No or very limited exposure to physical risk. • Some travel required. |
Salary | $53,270- $56,000 |

Terms of Employment | Full-time grant funded position (Title V Grant-Developing Hispanic Serving Institutions). Flexible schedule to meet department needs. Some evening, weekends, and extended hours will be required. Ability and willingness to travel on short notice to all on and off- campus sites as needed by the college. Employee must establish primary residency in New Jersey within one year of appointment unless an exemption applies. Grant Positions: Position will be terminated upon expiration of grant funding. |
